Brooks is Four Months

October 28, 2013

Baby Brooks is four months old!
He weighs 14 pounds and is  24 7/8  Inches long.
He is just a sweetie pie!! This month he has started making quite a bit of baby noise! He doesn't do it all that often but when he is in the mood to chat he DOES!
He still loves his play mat and plays on it a lot!  I think he is starting to teeth too!  He has been chewing on his hands and drooling a lot.

My what big eyes you have!

I think he is ready for cereal too!  He is big eater and formula does not seem to he keeping him full for as long as it has been.  He is still sleeping  8-9 hours at night with the exception of the week he had his first little cold.
This month he rolled from his front to his back!  He is a joy and growing like a weed!

Brooks is THREE months Old and I am back to Work!

It is so hard to believe how fast three months goes by! I just went back to work a week ago and I seriously wish FMLA would allow you to take up to your Child’s three month Birthday before forcing you to go back to work. Oh Well…They never asked for my opinion! HA! We are so lucky though that Mimi retired to care for Brooks! This was such a blessing and a huge burden lifted to know that he is being loved and cared for by his Mimi while Eric and I work! Lucky Little Boy! Brooks is doing great! I have enjoyed staying home with him and with Caroline! It has been wonderful! This time around has been so much more enjoyable for me. I really have not felt any stress like I did when I was off with Caroline. I guess part of that is knowing what to expect and not freaking out about every little thing. I also think Brooks is pretty easy going which has helped tremendously and I have a little Caroline helper! She has such an amazing love for Brooks!

Who knew he would be the “Chosen One” On to Brooks! He weighs 13lbs 2oz and is 23 3/4 inches long! It seems likes he has changed so much this month!

He is smiling a lot and they are big out of control smiles! We All LOVE IT! He has also started Laughing too! He also has sort of gotten over wanting to be held all of the time and he loves his playmate! He will play on that mat for lengthy amount of time and get all happy and excited about kicking around on the toys! He has also started blowing bubbles; he does this all of the time! He is quickly becoming a champion sleeper! He now sleeps anywhere from 7 – 9 hours on the regular! This is awesome! His eating patterns are a little all over the place…he might eat 2 oz or he might eat 6 to 7 oz. The large amounts usually happen at his bedtime bottle. I guess he has figured out that he has to go for longer stretches at night between eating. Smart Kid! Last Big Thing Brooks has done is Roll Over, Tummy to Back! He did this on 9/21/13 and no one has actually seen him do it because he keeps doing it while he is sleeping! I did finally catch him in the Roll over act four days later! That is all I have for the big Three Months!

Brooks is TWO Month Old!

Brooks is TWO months Old! He weighs 11 lbs 2 oz. and is 22.5 inches long.

He has a very calm temperament which is nice. He has started to make little smiles and little cooing noises. He is very quiet when he coos so you have to be listening for it. He is sleeping for about 6 hours at night, which I think is great! He really loves to be in the bath. I think he would be happy to just stay in the bath all day! Caroline has been helping with me give him a bath every night which is so nice. I really enjoy this because it gives me a chance to spend some quality time with both kids at the same time.

Bath Time Slumber!

Caroline is an excellent Bath Giver!

Caroline really looks forward to Brooks’s Bath time too! Brooks still prefers to be held but he also enjoys being in his swing. This is nice too because I have been able to get some things done around the house while he plays in his swing! He is a sweet little Baby

What a sweet little Face!

Fun night at the Thomas's

Tonight was the Daddy Eric's football fantasy draft up in NWA so we all went up.  The kids and I spent the evening with Peevy, Gracyn, and Cole at their house.  Eric and Clint went to their draft.  We had a very fun time just hanging out at their house.  The girls played and crafted all evening.  The boys pretty much slept and ate.  Peevy and were able to get a little chat time in too!

Adorable girls!

First Day of Pre-K!

Today was Caroline's first day of Pre- Kindergarten and the first day of her last year at First Place Academy. I am just so happy she has one more year here!

She has been ready to go back to school  for a while now.  She has been asking when it will be time to go back and asking us to drive her by the school.   We went to her Pre-K ore rotation last Saturday.  We visited Her classroom and with her teacher Mrs. Edie! We love Mrs. Edie!   Caroline had a great time at orientation and seeing ing her friends!

Caroline found her folder and sat right down.

             Caroline and Mrs. Edie!

Caroline and Madelyn are in the same         class again this year!

This morning she popped right out of bed and got ready!  Eric took her to school and dropped her off.  I stayed home with Brooks.  I have to say our morning was very nice and relaxed and full of Back to school excitement since I am not working right now.

All set and ready to go!

              Caroline and Daddy!

She had a great Day!  She was the very first "Special Helper" for the year!  And Mrs. Edie said she did a wonderful job!  I think it is going to be a great year!

Swimm Lessons!!

It is Time for Swim Lesson!

First Day of Swim Lessons

On Monday July 8th Caroline started swim lesson for the first time!  I figured since I was off work all Summer that this would be a great time for us to do swim lessons.  I got her signed up at the Fort Smith Athletic Club for four solid weeks.

I think it was a great program!  They evaluated each child on the first day and then worked with one and in very small groups based on their evaluation.

Caroline learned quite a bit and got much more comfortable in the water.

She learned to blow Bubbles through her nose

She learned how to kick and use her arm to swim

She learned to float on her back

She learned to drive under the water to grab a pool ring

She conquered Jumping off of the diving board!

Little Swimmer

Caroline and Miss Avery!

Certificates of Completion!!

She completed Level 1 and Level 2 of the Swim Program and I think she really enjoyed it too!

We will definitely be signing up for this program next Summer!

Brooks is ONE Month Old!

Brooks is ONE month old! Hard to believe he is already a month old!

He doesn’t do a whole lot at the point other than eat and sleep. He weighs 10lbs even and is 21.5 inches long. His hair is pretty light… in the blonde family and his eyes are still blue. He is a pretty serious little guy. He is a pretty good baby. He is eating 2 – 3 hours. He is a very noisy eater! He sleeps 3 -4 hours and gets up about two times to eat each night. He also seems too really like the sound of running water…I think it calms him. My Goodness Caroline adores him.

Big Sis love!

She can’t keep from loving on him all of the time. Brooks loves to be held really this all he wants you to do. He sleeps very well on his tummy. He has surprisingly good head control for 1 month too! I have certainly enjoyed this month!

Sweet Little Brooksy Baby!

Happy Fourth of July!

This was our First Holiday as a Family of Four!  The 4thwas actually a busy day for us.

We had Brooks’s newborn photo session with Wendy White.  She was so kind to get us in quickly and before he was a week old.  She spent so much time photographing Brooks.  We got some beautiful photographs of the little guy.  I am going to have a hard time deciding which Prints to order. I absolutely love photographs because they capture that sweet moment which is gone forever after.

These are just a few I snagged from Brooks's Gallery! I adore them!

What beautiful child we have been blessed with.

After our photo session we headed out to Mimi and Papa’s for some 4th of July Fun!  They got one of those huge inflatable pools, little kiddie pools, and water guns for all of the kids.  Caroline had a blast she swam all day long only stopping briefly to grab a bit to eat!  Of course there was a ton of delicious food!  Mimi made these chocolate covered cherries, they were amazing!  Little Brooks mostly slept through his very first Holiday but I think everyone was glad he came for the festivities!

Pool Time!!

4th of July Family!

Once it got dark out side we started the Fireworks show!  We stopped off at a stand before we headed out to let Caroline pick out some firework things.

FireWorks!

Mimi and Papa made each of the Grandkids their own sack of fireworks!  So she had a ton of Fireworks and she loved them all!  I missed out on most of the fireworks because I didn’t think it was good idea to have Brooks out in all of the Smoke.  Plus the loud Booms were terrifying him!  We sat inside and I watched a little of the fireworks display from the glass front door.  Eric and Caroline had a great time shooting off Fireworks.  It was a great 4thof July get together!

The next day we headed up to Fayetteville to spend the evening with our friends the Thomas’ and the Grises.  We had some sparklers and some snakes left that we took up for the girls to play with outside.  Today was the first time that Brooks and Cole got to meet each other! Sweet Little Friends from the beginning! I think we all had a very nice time just hanging out and visiting!

All together!
