Brooks is ONE Month Old!

Brooks is ONE month old! Hard to believe he is already a month old!

He doesn’t do a whole lot at the point other than eat and sleep. He weighs 10lbs even and is 21.5 inches long. His hair is pretty light… in the blonde family and his eyes are still blue. He is a pretty serious little guy. He is a pretty good baby. He is eating 2 – 3 hours. He is a very noisy eater! He sleeps 3 -4 hours and gets up about two times to eat each night. He also seems too really like the sound of running water…I think it calms him. My Goodness Caroline adores him.

Big Sis love!

She can’t keep from loving on him all of the time. Brooks loves to be held really this all he wants you to do. He sleeps very well on his tummy. He has surprisingly good head control for 1 month too! I have certainly enjoyed this month!

Happy Fourth of July!

This was our First Holiday as a Family of Four!  The 4thwas actually a busy day for us.

We had Brooks’s newborn photo session with Wendy White.  She was so kind to get us in quickly and before he was a week old.  She spent so much time photographing Brooks.  We got some beautiful photographs of the little guy.  I am going to have a hard time deciding which Prints to order. I absolutely love photographs because they capture that sweet moment which is gone forever after.

These are just a few I snagged from Brooks's Gallery! I adore them!

What beautiful child we have been blessed with.

After our photo session we headed out to Mimi and Papa’s for some 4th of July Fun!  They got one of those huge inflatable pools, little kiddie pools, and water guns for all of the kids.  Caroline had a blast she swam all day long only stopping briefly to grab a bit to eat!  Of course there was a ton of delicious food!  Mimi made these chocolate covered cherries, they were amazing!  Little Brooks mostly slept through his very first Holiday but I think everyone was glad he came for the festivities!

Pool Time!!

4th of July Family!

Once it got dark out side we started the Fireworks show!  We stopped off at a stand before we headed out to let Caroline pick out some firework things.

FireWorks!

Mimi and Papa made each of the Grandkids their own sack of fireworks!  So she had a ton of Fireworks and she loved them all!  I missed out on most of the fireworks because I didn’t think it was good idea to have Brooks out in all of the Smoke.  Plus the loud Booms were terrifying him!  We sat inside and I watched a little of the fireworks display from the glass front door.  Eric and Caroline had a great time shooting off Fireworks.  It was a great 4thof July get together!

The next day we headed up to Fayetteville to spend the evening with our friends the Thomas’ and the Grises.  We had some sparklers and some snakes left that we took up for the girls to play with outside.  Today was the first time that Brooks and Cole got to meet each other! Sweet Little Friends from the beginning! I think we all had a very nice time just hanging out and visiting!

All together!

Welcome Brooks Andrew!

It's Baby Day!!
Welcome Baby Brooks!!!

Let me tell you I was ready!   We had a scheduled induction on June 28th which is my opinion is the only way to go if you are a Planner like me!

Eric and I had took Caroline out to Mimi and Papa’s to stay the night since we had to be at the Hospital at 5am the next morning.  After we dropped her off we had one last Date night.  We went to Chili’s and to see World War Z. Then we headed home to do some last minute packing and get some sleep before Brooks’s Arrival Day!

We headed to the hospital and got checked into our room and started the Poticin at 7:44.  I was pretty sure that Brooks was going to be here around the same time that Caroline was born which was in the morning.  Dr. Rainwater came in to visit and said she thought we would have a Baby around 1pm.  Ok, I was fine with that… not as early as I wanted but still a nice time.  I got my epidural pretty quick after I got setup in the room because I did not want to miss my opportunity especially since Caroline was born so fast and typically second children are born quicker than firsts.

Ready for Brooks to arrive!

We started to have issues immediately with Brooks’s heart rate dropping every time I would have a contraction.  It was dropping significantly so I was put me on Oxygen and I had to rotate from side to side for the entire day.  I was not making any progress either.  There was talk that a C-section might be in my future which was certainly not what I wanted.    So the morning went by….then 1pm came and went….then3pm…..This Kid just did not want to make is grand entrance!

All the Grandparents and Elizabeth were there for most of the day and Caroline.
Once she got there she did not want to leave, thank goodness she finally was talked into going to play games at Chuck E Cheese with Mimi and Papa.

Big Sister...Not going anywhere

I do need to give a Shout out to my awesome Nurses Leslie and Barbara!  I have to say I enjoyed spending they day with them which was something I did not get to do when Caroline was born. They also kept us all calm when things were not going so well. AND finally at around4pm I got the word that I was ready to have this Baby!  We waited for Dr. Rainwater to get back to the room and it was Go Time!  After an hour of pushing Baby Brooks Andrew was Born.

Brand new Baby Boy!

Sweet Little Baby!

He was born with the Cord wrapped around his neck which was the source of all of the problems we had had all day.
My BirthTeam was amazing and I will truly cherish that part of this experience!

My Birth Team!

Once Little Brooks was all cleaned up everyone came back to our room.  Caroline was the first person person to get to see Brooks up close.  The first thing she said was and I quote, "I am not a fan."  She really did not want to have much to do with him.
"I am Not a Fan..."

Taking a Look at Baby Brother

It was such a long day for everyone and she really had no idea what to expect, I don't blame her for not being a fan.  We gave her the Big Sister bag from Brooks  and she thought that was so neat that he got her gift and I think this helped some.

Big Sister gift from Brooks!

The next day she came back and she said, "She was a fan now" let me me tell you she has been loving on that Baby Boy since.  There is something magical about seeing your two children together in those first few days.

Sweet Baby Love

Eric and I are truly blessed to have been given two healthy and beautiful children.
I am excited to begin our journey as a Family of Four!
