It's Baby Day!!
Let me tell you I was ready! We had a scheduled induction on June 28th which is my opinion is the only way to go if you are a Planner like me!
Eric and I had took Caroline out to Mimi and Papa’s to stay the night since we had to be at the Hospital at 5am the next morning. After we dropped her off we had one last Date night. We went to Chili’s and to see World War Z. Then we headed home to do some last minute packing and get some sleep before Brooks’s Arrival Day!
We headed to the hospital and got checked into our room and started the Poticin at 7:44. I was pretty sure that Brooks was going to be here around the same time that Caroline was born which was in the morning. Dr. Rainwater came in to visit and said she thought we would have a Baby around 1pm. Ok, I was fine with that… not as early as I wanted but still a nice time. I got my epidural pretty quick after I got setup in the room because I did not want to miss my opportunity especially since Caroline was born so fast and typically second children are born quicker than firsts.
We started to have issues immediately with Brooks’s heart rate dropping every time I would have a contraction. It was dropping significantly so I was put me on Oxygen and I had to rotate from side to side for the entire day. I was not making any progress either. There was talk that a C-section might be in my future which was certainly not what I wanted. So the morning went by….then 1pm came and went….then3pm…..This Kid just did not want to make is grand entrance!
I do need to give a Shout out to my awesome Nurses Leslie and Barbara! I have to say I enjoyed spending they day with them which was something I did not get to do when Caroline was born. They also kept us all calm when things were not going so well. AND finally at around4pm I got the word that I was ready to have this Baby! We waited for Dr. Rainwater to get back to the room and it was Go Time! After an hour of pushing Baby Brooks Andrew was Born.

Ready for Brooks to arrive!
All the Grandparents and Elizabeth were there for most of the day and Caroline.
Once she got there she did not want to leave, thank goodness she finally was talked into going to play games at Chuck E Cheese with Mimi and Papa.

7lbs 7 oz and 20 inches
He was born with the Cord wrapped around his neck which was the source of all of the problems we had had all day.
My BirthTeam was amazing and I will truly cherish that part of this experience!
My Birth Team!
Once Little Brooks was all cleaned up everyone came back to our room. Caroline was the first person person to get to see Brooks up close. The first thing she said was and I quote, "I am not a fan." She really did not want to have much to do with him.
Taking a Look at Baby Brother
It was such a long day for everyone and she really had no idea what to expect, I don't blame her for not being a fan. We gave her the Big Sister bag from Brooks and she thought that was so neat that he got her gift and I think this helped some.
Big Sister gift from Brooks!
The next day she came back and she said, "She was a fan now" let me me tell you she has been loving on that Baby Boy since. There is something magical about seeing your two children together in those first few days.
Eric and I are truly blessed to have been given two healthy and beautiful children.
I am excited to begin our journey as a Family of Four!
